Bob Erskine kindly took us to visit Belfast Castle on Saturday afternoon
The sandstone castle was built on the site of previous castles on Cave Hill and completed in 1870 CE
Derek & Bob / Stairway at the rear of the castle
The plans were drawn up by local architect John Lanyon, who followed the Scottish Baronial style
The like-it-or-hate-it retro 60s design of our room in the Fitzwilliam Hotel on Great Victoria Street
The stylish bathroom was equipped with both a full size bath & a shower cubicle

Derek & Bertie emerging from the restaurant to search for Bertie's car amongst the Saturday night revels...
Bob & Lynne kindly had us over for lunch and a laugh or two on Sunday afternoon
